In response to the announcement by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) today, declaring the commencement of drills code-named Joint Sword-2024A in the vicinity of Taiwan, Taiwan People's Party (TPP) vehemently condemns such actions. Military harassment jeopardizes the stability of the Taiwan Strait and widens the rift in cross-strait relations.

Regarding the "Joint Sword-2024A" exercises conducted by the Chinese Eastern Theater Command, emphasized as a serious warning against external interference and provocation, TPP condemns any form of obstruction and interference by the CCP. Resorting to rhetorical intimidation and military threats only exacerbates tensions and undermines stability in the Taiwan Strait. We urge our neighbors across the strait to cease such destabilizing behaviors.
